Surgery

Dr. Holstein performs a wide range of female surgeries, both inpatient and outpatient at St. Elizabeth. We work closely with the St. Elizabeth employees to make your hospital experience positive.

Family Planning Procedures

We provide family planning procedures including Essure, Adiana and intrauterine devices. Dr. Holstein will help you decide what method is best for you.

Abnormal Bleeding

Many women find that excessive or irregular bleeding interferes with their daily activities. In addition to medical management, we offer Novasure endometrial ablation and Merina intrauterine systems to help control abnormal bleeding. Many patients are able to have the Novasure procedure in the office with a quick recovery. Merina is inserted during an office visit.

Abnormal Pap Smears

Most women with abnormal pap smears do not require surgical treatment. In our office we are able to evaluate the cervix with colposcopy, looking at the cervix with a special microscope and possible biopsies. The majority of women do not require surgery; but for those who do, we are able to perform procedure such as the LEEP cone biopsy. Surgical treatment is determined by the severity, location, and duration of the abnormal cells. Dr. Holstein will be happy to discuss this with you at your visit.
